Adult General Price List

Prices are effective February 15, 2008, but are subject to change without notice

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services. If legal or other requirements impose the purchase of any item you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Please note that there may be charges for items such as cemetery fees, flowers, newspaper notices, and motorcycle escorts.

Professional Services of Funeral Director and Staff

Basic Services		$ 1,195
	This fee for our basic services will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. This fee is already included in the charges for direct cremation, immediate burial, and forwarding or receiving remains. The basic services fee includes the following: Around the clock availability of personnel. Coordination of service plans and arrangement interviews. General clerical administration. Securing and recording of death certificate, transit permits, cremation permits, and life insurance claims. Coordination and communication of service plans with cemetery, crematory, and transportation companies.
Additional Services
	Coordination, direction, staff, and equipment for a funeral ceremony or memorial service at a facility other than our funeral home, such as a church or community center.	$ 475
	Coordination and direction of a graveside service or immediate burial. (does not include cemetery charges)	$ 375

Embalming		$ 575
	Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary however, if you select certain funeral arrangements such as any type of service in which viewing of the body is required or requested. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.
Additional Care of Remains
	Bathing, dressing, hair styling, and cosmetics	$ 150

Use of Funeral Home Facilities

	The use of facilities is reserved exclusively for those families using the professional services of the funeral home. No food, drink, or catering services are available or permitted.

Transportation

	(A complete price list will be provided at the funeral home) In many areas of the country, state or local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the casket in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have such a container so that the grave will not sink. Either a grave liner or a burial vault will satisfy these requirements.

Other Services

Forwarding of Remains to another Funeral Home		$ 2,410
	This charge includes initial transfer of remains to Jaynes Memorial Chapel within 35 miles, basic services of funeral director and staff, embalming, transfer to DFW Airport, and a combination air tray/shipping container.
Receiving of Remains from another Funeral Home		$ 1,345
	This charge includes transfer from DFW Airport and basic services of funeral director and staff.
Cremation
	If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or wood composition materials. The crematory used by our funeral home does not permit the use of alternative containers that are not made of rigid materials. The alternative container we offer is made of unfinished wood composition material. Our charges for a direct cremation (without ceremony) include initial transfer of remains to Jaynes Memorial Chapel within 35 miles, basic services of funeral director and staff, transfer to crematory, and crematory fee.

Service arrangement package prices correspond to the itemized service charges detailed in this adult general price list. These arrangement packages are limited to removals and services conducted within a 35-mile radius of Jaynes Memorial Chapel. You may choose only the items you desire; therefore you have the option to select the services you require directly from the itemized price list.

No express warranties, and no warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are extended by the funeral home.

In most areas of the country, state or local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the casket in the grave. Q: Can I really save money by going to a casket store to purchase a casket?

A: Families who compare tell us our caskets are priced fairly. There seems to be a multitude of advertising these days that promotes significant savings by not purchasing your casket at the funeral home. This may be true if your family chooses a large, corporately owned chain funeral home for funeral services. However, Jaynes Memorial Chapel is a small, family firm. Therefore, our prices are very competitive with anyone offering caskets in the Dallas Fort Worth area. We strive to offer a wide range of casket choices, priced fairly and honestly, which will meet the aesthetic and budgetary needs of your family. You do have the right to purchase a casket elsewhere, however, we sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve your family’s needs in their entirety and earn your trust with a casket purchased at our funeral home.
