Dr. Martine Goodin Tirmenstein went home to His Savior and to join his sweetheart on February 13, 2012, just in time for Valentine’s Day. "Martin" was born December 30, 1928 to Martine and Helen Tirmenstein in Benton, Missouri. He met the love of his life, Peggy Jane Lott, in Memphis, and after six years of courtship told her, “There are three things in life I want:  you, a gun, and to become a doctor.” He got all three. Martine and Peg were married in 1952 and built a loving home together where, for the next fifty-seven years, they entertained many angels. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and served as a Major in the US Air Force. After moving the family to Dallas, Dr. T began his private anesthesiology practice at Methodist Hospital, a position he held until retirement in 1996. Left to honor his memory are his sons, Les, Chris, Greg and his wife Cathy; daughter, Laurie; grandchildren, Carli, Martin, Sarah, Bree, Bobby and Billy; cousin Ben Adams; loving caregiver, Annie; and the very dearest of friends. Martin lived a life of honest and faithful service to God, his family, patients, church and country. Today he has been reunited with his Most Beloved and liberated from earthly suffering. With loyal Laddie by his side, he surely received this from the Lord: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter now into the rest I have prepared for you."  Funeral services are 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Faith Bible Church in DeSoto.  Interment will be at D-FW National Cemetery in Dallas at 2:15 PM.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service at Faith Bible Church in DeSoto.  Memorial gifts may be made to Faith Bible Church.
